Dear Supporters and Friends in the Netherlands,

We’re calling on your generosity and compassion to make a significant difference in the lives of Ukrainian children affected by the ongoing crisis. Our mission is clear: gather 100 backpacks filled with essentials to bring smiles to the faces of these young ones.

As another Disaster Tech Lab team prepares to journey to Ukraine, we’re focused on more than just providing internet connectivity and renewable energy infrastructure to a school and daycare center. We recognize the extra need for support, especially for refugee children and disadvantaged communities.

Here’s how you can help make a tangible impact:

Step 1: Choose the Right Backpack
Select a backpack meeting the following criteria:

• Two padded shoulder straps
• At least 1 main compartment and 1 front pocket
• Brand new, never used

Step 2: Fill it with Essential Items
Include the following items inside the backpack:

• 2 notebooks (A5 format, lined)
• 1 note/sketch pad (A4 format, blank)
• 6 pens (2 blue, 2 red, 2 black)
• Standard set of colored pencils
• Eraser & pencil sharpener
• Children’s scissors
• Adhesive tape
• Lunch box
• Drinking bottle
• Flashlight
• Purse

Step 3: Drop Off Your Contribution
Bring your filled backpack to our office at Markt 1B in Geleen (behind the old town hall). Drop-offs are welcome from March 28 to April 4, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. If these times don’t suit you, reach out to us, and we’ll arrange an alternative.

The age range of the children is 2 to 6 years old, so please keep that in mind when selecting items.
