WiFi Mesh Access Point:
We’re currently working on designing and building a prototype of an outdoor WiFi mesh access point with onboard SD storage. This device is to be used in disaster response environments and as well as having dual radios & meshing capabilities it will also have large onboard storage which can be pre-loaded with situational relevant data accessible through a portal.
Location aware responder database:
We’ve seen how in disaster response environments it is quite often hard to access details on which responders are actually in a specific area, what skill-sets they have, where exactly they are and how to contact them. We’re looking to build an online database and mobile app which will allow responders to enter their information in this database on or prior to arrival. Basic information will be name, skills, location & means of contact. The database will be accessible through a website but will also have a mobile (Android, iOS, Windows Phone) client.
We’re looking for energetic volunteers to assist us with developing the above projects. It will give you the opportunity to commit as much or as little time as you want to and in return you will get the satisfaction on being involved in developing some really exciting technologies which will eventually assist in helping people in need. If you have any skills and/or time which you want to contribute please contact us via email.
